Influenza

Flu vaccines will be given starting in the fall. It is recommended for all age groups, especially if you are over 50 years old, are a caretaker for the elderly or small children, or have a history of respiratory diseases. The 2009 Swine Flu Vaccine will be an additional vaccine available in the late fall.

Meningitis 

To prevent meningitis, this is recommended for children between the ages of 11 – 18 years old. It is highly recommended for individuals living in dormitories.

Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis

To prevent tetanus, a tetanus booster vaccine is recommended every 10 years. For ages 7 – 64, the combination vaccines Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis is now recommended.

Gardasil

This vaccine prevents cervical cancer, genital lesions  and warts caused by HPV. It is a 3 dose vaccine highly recommended for girls ages 9 – 26.

Zostavax

To prevent shingles, this vaccine is recommended for adults age 50 and older, especially if you have had chicken pox as a child.
